CERI - Climate and Energy Research Institute is a green think tank that Insists socioeconomic analysis must serve as the guiding compass for decision making in the green transition.
A need for stronger analytical capacity in the green transition
With hundreds of billions of kroner required to transform Denmark’s energy system, substantially reduce CO₂ emissions and carry out the largest land use change in the country’s history, it is essential that this transformation is implemented in a cost effective and timely manner.
Poor decisions can be both irreversible and costly for Danish society. A stronger professional and analytical effort across several areas is needed to ensure a long term transition that is supported by the Danish population.
Bridging research and policy
CERI helps shape the political agenda through sustained dialogue with political stakeholders. The objective is to make the green transition easier to navigate from a policy perspective by uncovering key facts and providing actionable responses to the green challenges facing society. We communicate publically about analytical findings and evidence based policy proposals that support more mature political decision making and strengthen public understanding of one of the defining societal challenges of our time.
When private and public actors invest substantial sums, difficult trade offs are inevitable. CERI works systematically to identify and compare socioeconomic impacts so that Denmark achieves the greatest possible green transition for the resources invested. We strengthen both green initiatives and their political legitimacy by clarifying where efforts are most effective.
CERI consistently draws on the latest research to enhance the quality of its analyses and to place Danish challenges within a global perspective.
More than a decade of think tank experience
